Rumours and reports continue to persist of Michael Schumachers return to F1 for the 2010 season. Should Michael return with the newly formed Mercedes team (ex Brawn) he will provide extra challenge to the likes of Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton in the McLaren, Phillipe Massa who hopefully will be fully fit following his accident last season, and Fernando Alonso in a Ferrari. Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel will also be hoping to get into the mix and progress from last years performance with the Red Bull.
With the new points system of 25 points for a win with 20 for second and 15 for the remaining podium spot, and with refueling now not an option for the 2010 I can see an interesting championship developing over the forthcoming season.
In my view, if Michael returns, the 2010 F1 championship will be closely contested between the seven drivers listed above, with McLaren maybe just ahead in terms of claiming the constructers title.
