Hull City Football Club – The Tigers

Hull City, also known as “The Tigers” are a professional English football club based in the East of Yorkshire that were formed in 1904. In the first season that they were formed they were only able to play friendly matches due to applying to be in the football league too late. Hull’s most recent success in their history would be when they won the Championship play-off final against Bristol City in 2008 – gaining Premier League status.

Notable players for Hull City include the likes of Chris Chilton – who is the club’s all time record goalscorer with 222 goals including all competitions. The player with the most appearances to his name for Hull City is Andy Davidson, who managed over 500 league games in his career. He is closely followed by George Maddison, who played a total of 430 matches.

Hulls colours have predominately been an amber coloured shirt with black shorts, but they have experimented with different strips throughout there history. For instance they once tried out an all black kit in 1909 and more famously, in 1992, adopted a strange tiger print pattern that some consider to be one of the most horrible strips of all time.
