Fulham Football Club – The Cottagers
Fulham is an English football club that was founded in 1879 by worshipers of the C of E Church based on Star Road, West Kensington. The Cottagers are known to be the oldest professional team that play football in London. The majority of their existence has been spent in the First Division (now called “The Championship”) and haven’t won a major trophy to date.
Even though they haven’t won any major honours they have still managed to produce some of the great British footballers/managers – some of these names include George Cohen, Bobby Robson, Alan Mullery and Johnny Haynes (club record appearances for Fulham).
Fulham’s kit has traditionally been white shirts, black shorts and white socks – this sometimes why they are known as “The Whites” as well as “The Cottagers”. However when they first started out in the 1880’s they had red detail on the shirts and in 1898 they even wore navy shorts.
